Microsoft re-appoints Robert Cioffi to U.S. Small Business Specialist Community Advisory Board
Robert Cioffi, co-founder and Director of Technology of Progressive Computing Inc was recently re-appointed by Microsoft as a member of its exclusive U.S. Small Business Specialist Community (SBSC) Advisory Board. One partner from each of the ten Microsoft US geographic regions were tapped for this unique opportunity. Robert Cioffi is representing the NY/NJ Metropolitan sales region – the largest in terms of revenue. The period of this appointment is for Microsoft’s Fiscal Year 2011 which begins July 1, 2010.
Robert Cioffi has also been re-appointed to the Microsoft SMB Worldwide Partner Area Lead (PAL) program for Microsoft FY11. This is his second year on this board representing East Coast, USA. The other 17 board members span the globe from countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, England, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, India, and others.

Robert Cioffi presents "Identity Theft for Business" to New York State Society’s Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP) program
For the third year in a row, Robert Cioffi was invited as a guest speaker for the New York State Society’s Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP) program held at Westchester Community College. He delievered a presentation called "Identity Theft for Business" to hilight some of the methods in which personal and business identities can be stolen. The COAP attendees are high school students considering a career in Forensic Accounting.

The Microsoft U.S. SBSC Advisory Board members will provide Microsoft with real-life experiences and ground-level intelligence about issues faced by their fellow Small Business Specialist partners. They will also provide critical feedback to help shape upcoming sales and marketing programs currently being developed by Microsoft.
Eileen DeVito, Microsoft’s Local Engagement Business Development Manager for NY Metro Area, stated that the US SBSC program managers were looking for "passionate Microsoft partners that have successfully demonstrated experience and participation in the Microsoft partner ecosystem, and who are actively engaged in local Microsoft partner communities". Eileen continued to say, "When I heard the profile, I immediately thought of Progressive Computing and their Director of Technology, Robert Cioffi".

Robert Cioffi, Keynote Speaker at Local VOIP Business Seminar
Robert Cioffi was the keynote speaker for an event titled: “How Can Technology Help My Business in an Economic Downturn?” held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown, NY. The event was organized by a leading local telecommunications company called Select Telecom in response to the anticipated slowdown in the economy. The presentation focused on how Voice and Data technologies are converging in the workplace, but most importantly, the positive impact this can have on your competitiveness, productivity and profitability.

For the 5th year in a row, Progressive Computing helped support the Westchester Arts Council annual Gala & Silent Auction by setting up a computer network at the Gala event to automate the auction process. Our very own Robert Cioffi donated much of his personal time to coordinate this effort and volunteer his time assiting with various Gala activities.
